Services

At Full Circle Horseman, Mark teaches horses how to communicate with and look forward to human interaction, while coaching humans how to be receptive to their innate abilities and language. We will learn, talk, and seek the ‘feel’ - this is the common denominator of all lessons and consulting services.

Location: Mark will travel to your barn or arena of choice, up to 40 miles from Brightwood, OR. He also offers lessons and services at Horsin’ Around Ranch in Damascus, OR (where he boards his own horse, Red Rose).

Ages & Abilities: We provide a safe environment for adults and children over 9 years old, at any experience level. All lessons and services are private and catered to you (and your horse’s) needs, abilities, and goals.

Pricing: Starting at $40/hour, pricing varies based on service, commitment and travel distance (if applicable). Contact Mark to meet and discuss multi lesson/service discount packages.

  • Mustang & Rescue Rehabilitation

Many mustangs and rescues arrive in a new home having never been handled or even worse, mishandled and are understandably afraid. Using natural horsemanship techniques, we show them that humans are trustworthy, we can lead and calm their fears, to ultimately develop a true partnership.

It all starts with an assessment and goal setting - for the mustang or rescue and their human. From haltering, picking up feet, groundwork, to trailering, under saddle training, and riding - the horse’s wellbeing is first and foremost.

This is at least a 6-month commitment or longer, depending on the assessment and goals of the individual horse and human. Sessions are at least 2 hours long and depending on our assessment and goals, multiple times a week.

    Rider & Owner Lessons

Whether you’re new to horsemanship or competing in OHSET, Western Pleasure, or just looking to have better trail rides, we can craft a lesson program for you and your horse. We will conduct an initial meeting to determine your riding level and goals however the lesson program is not just driven by what the rider wants, but where the horse is willing and able to take us.

Lessons are private, 1 to 2 hour sessions and we adapt to the daily conditions of the horse, rider, and grounds. We can come to your barn or offer lessons with a schooling horse in Damascus, OR.

Every lesson is unique, but typically we work on:

    • Grooming and tacking including fitting and equipment care

    • Learning how to safely interact with a horse and other boarders

    • Building connection from groundwork, graduating towards true liberty

    • Communication including listening and giving clear signals

    • How to ride in rhythm and in correct position

    • Feeling for the horse’s pace and proper timing your cues

  • Finding Your Equine Partner
